On May 16, 1998 hundreds of Georgians, black and white, walked across the Moore's Ford Bridge to honor the vicims of this horrible lynching. Committee Members installed grave monuments inscribed: "May your suffering be redeemed in Brotherly Love" A military service on Memorial Day 1999 honored WWII veteran George Dorsey, killed only nine months after returning from duty in the Pacific Moore's Ford Memorial Committee 1999 Dorsey Memorial Service Military Service Record for George Dorsey In 1999 on the 53rd anniversary of the events at Moore's Ford, the group erected a Slate of Georgia Historic sign to remember the lynchings Mae Murray Dorsey Activist Bobby Howard and MFMC Secretary Rich Rusk Students from Emory University attended a MFMC cemetary work day
